Gorilla permits in Uganda costs usd$ 600 and in the low seasons of April, May and September these permits cost usd$ 350 per person per tracking and permits are sold at Uganda wildlife Authority and its headquarter are located in Kamwokya Kampala. Mountain gorillas in Uganda are hosted in two parks Bwindi impenetrable national park and Mgahinga gorilla forest national park both parks are located in south western part of Uganda about 8-9 hours.

In Rwanda gorilla permits costs usd$ 700 permits are bought at the RBD headquarters in Kigali or at Kinigi park headquarters in volcanoes national park about 2 hours’ drive from Kigali Rwanda’s capital city. However in Uganda, you can watch the chimps in kibale forest national park, or Queen Elizabeth national park. Both parkas are just a drive of about 4-5 hours to Bwindi impenetrable national park. Where as in Rwanda chimps are only found in one park Nyungwe forest national park, it’s about 5-6 hours from volcanoes national park in to the north-western side of Rwanda to Nyungwe forest.

Here is a brief itinerary for 5 days chimps and gorilla safaris

Day one transfer Kampala Uganda’s capital and its largest city to kibale forest national park or Queen Elizabeth national park, arrive in the evening at the park, you can for an optional activity that evening. The second day will be reserved for chimpanzee tracking either in kibale forest or kyambura Gorge in Queen Elizabeth N.P. In the evening you will enjoy nature walk in kibale and either game drive or launch cruise in Queen Elizabeth N.P. On the third day you will be transferred to Bwindi Impenetrable national park a home for the endangered mountain gorillas. On the 4th day of your safari you will enjoy a magnificent activity that’s gorilla tracking. On the final day of the safari you will embark on your return journey back home.

Same to Rwanda, day one will be for transfer to volcanoes national park, day two is for gorilla tracking in the tropical rain fall of volcanoes national park, day three is for transfer to Nyungwe forest national a home to over 13 species of primates, chimps is the key primate species at the park. Day four is reserved for chimpanzee tracking and may be community walk in the evening. Day 5 is for departure back home.
