Barbour's Rock Mouse (Petromyscus barbouri)

The Barbour's Rock Mouse is endemic to South Africa. It is very rare, and is currently (2003) listed as an endangered species.

It was discovered in 1938 by Shortride and Carter, and since this time very little research has been conducted into this particular species of rock mouse.
