Lesueur's Hairy Bat (Myotis lesueuri)

No image available of Lesuer's Hairy Bat

The Large-eared Free-tailed Bat was first reported by Roberts in 1919. It was found in Cape Province, Paarl District, Lormarins. This bat is endemic to South Africa. It is currently listed as a vulnerable species.

There has been very little research conducted into the life of this particular species of bat. One reason for this is they are very sparse. It is rare to find a specimen of this bat.
